The Physics Department is one of the founding departments of the University of Dhaka which began its long and glorious journey in 1921. There are approximately 700 students in the department of which 140 are enrolled in the undergraduate program annually and just nearly 100 are enrolled in the postgraduate program. On zenith of its own courses, the department with offers courses to students of optional accretion departments of the Science Faculty, for instance, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geology, Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology.
Presently there are very roughly fifty facility members in the department. The department is standoffish to have had many distinguished physicists as its adding members along in the middle of whom were S.N. Bose and K.S. Krishnan.
It was the remarkable discovery of S.N. Dhaka University is set to stage its 50th Convocation concerning March 4 conferring graduate and p.s. graduate degrees .18,000 students passed after the 49th convocation.
President Abdul Hamid, Chancellor of the academe, will seat the convocation though Professor Amit Chakma, Bangladesh born academician and vice-chancellor of Western University of Canada will come taking place furthermore the child support for the convocation speech.
Dhaka University (DU) will confer Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) degree subsequent to mention to Amit Chakma though DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique will dwelling it.

Bangladesh is a country where most of the people eat chicken. Chicken dishes are most favorite dish for all types of people. Though chicken are consumed at great numbers, many people didn’t know about International poultry day. So Youth Entertainment Box made a fun video to make awareness using comedy. It can make you laugh out loud.
In this show random funny questions about chickens are asked to the people. They shared their thoughts and funny stories. Even chickens also participated in the show. Their sadness, happiness and needs are presented in a funny way.

The Department of Botany is one of the oldest departments of the University of Dhaka and is the first tree-forest science department in the country. Botany was initially taught in the Department of Biology that was declared in 1939 and cutting edge became an independent department in 1954. Since its inception, the Department has produced a large number of botanists and acted as the feeder department for additional universities and research institutes of the country. The department offers B.S. (Honors), M.S., M. Phil and Ph. D. degrees. The Department has facilities to carry out dissenter research in the areas of cytogenetics, ecology, phycology, hydrobiology, limnology, microbiology, mycology, highly developed cryptogams, genetics, reforest pathology, reforest breeding, reforest physiology, forest tissue culture, forest molecular biology, taxonomy of flowering natural world and reforest systematics. The department has a herbarium as soon as on culmination of 5000 specimens. It has after that a botanical garden taking into consideration facilities to conduct auditorium experiments. The Department of Botany is one of the oldest departments of the University of Dhaka and is the first tree-forest science department in the country. Botany was initially taught in the Department of Biology that was declared in 1939 and cutting edge became an independent department in 1954. Since its inception, the Department has produced a large number of botanists and acted as the feeder department for additional universities and research institutes of the country. The department offers B.S. (Honors), M.S., M. Phil and Ph. D. degrees. The Department has facilities to carry out dissenter research in the areas of cytogenetics, ecology, phycology, hydrobiology, limnology, microbiology, mycology, highly developed cryptogams, genetics, reforest pathology, reforest breeding, reforest physiology, forest tissue culture, forest molecular biology, taxonomy of flowering natural world and reforest systematics. Under the act of 1920, the University of Dhaka opened its doors on the 1st of July 1921 in the then existing Government buildings situated in the picturesque surroundings of Ramna. The faculty of science of Dhaka University initially started with only three departments, namely Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The Chemistry Department was located in the building adjacent to the main Curzon Hall to which, the old Intermediate College Building was added later on. The main Chemistry Building provided space for the Physical, Organic and Inorganic sections and the lecture gallery of the Department. The Intermediate College Building housed the Biochemistry, Soil Science, Biology Sections and the Jagamohan Paul, Physiological laboratories, all as part of the Department of Chemistry. A third storey was raised on the main building in 1962. In 1973 a new three storey building was constructed for the Department of Chemistry. The organic chemistry section was housed here. In order to meet the growing demands of the increasing number of students every year, a new multistoried building is being constructed opposite the University Play Ground. The new building is named the «Mukarram Hossain Khundker Biggan Bhaban» after the name of the late Professor Khundker, the illustrious Head of the Department of Chemistry from 1954 until his death in 1972. The Ground floor, the first floor, and the second floor of Khundker Biggan Bhaban have already been completed. A substantial part of the research facilities and a graduate teaching laboratory have been shifted to this building. When completed, this building is expected to have all the facilities required for a modern chemistry department.

n 1993, a subsidiary course on Music was instituted directly under the supervision of Dean, Faculty of Arts, Dhaka University. A similar course on Theatre instituted in 1989, also under the Dean, Faculty of Arts. Both of these separate units were brought under a single departmental administration on 1 August, 1994 and named Department of Theatre and Music. In 1995, the department introduced two M.A programmes on Theatre and the other on Music. M.A (Theatre & Music) programme is a two year course open to student with B.A or B.Mus degree and specialization on four steams:
I. Folk Music (Looko Sangit),
II. Classical Music (Raga Sangit),
III. Tagore Music (Rabindra Sangit) and
IV. Nazrul Music (Nazrul Sangit).
In 1998, Department of Music introduced 5 years Honours and Masters course on Classical, Folk, Tagore and Nazrul songs. M.phil and PhD degrees were also included and started from 2000. Currently there are 200 students are studying Honours and Masters degree on Tagore songs, Nazrul songs, Folk songs and Classical Music. 8 students are doing research on Music for M.phil and PhD degree

The Department of Economics is as old as the University of Dhaka. Since its inception in 1921, it has been contributing in several areas of economics and other social sciences. The Department has a reputation for outstanding teaching and research and the faculty members have worldwide recognition and appreciation for their academic activities.. Many alumni of this Department are working in different government and non-government organizations in the country as well as in many reputed Universities of North-America, Europe and Australia.
An alumnus of the Department Professor Dr. Md. Yunus has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006.
At present, the Department has 41 faculty members specialized in a range of areas of economic interests. The Department of Economics has three consistent objectives: to provide the highest quality education to the students; to conduct pioneering research in economics; and to provide direction and service to our professional communities.
The Department offers an undergraduate degree programme leading to Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSS) and a graduate programme leading to Master of Social Sciences (MSS) in Economics. The BSS programme spans four years and the MSS spans one year. Besides, the department offers M.Phil. and Ph.D programmes in different branches of economics.

Dhaka University is set to stage its 50th Convocation concerning March 4 conferring graduate and p.s. graduate degrees .18,000 students passed after the 49th convocation.
President Abdul Hamid, Chancellor of the academe, will seat the convocation though Professor Amit Chakma, Bangladesh born academician and vice-chancellor of Western University of Canada will come taking place furthermore the child support for the convocation speech.
Dhaka University (DU) will confer Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) degree subsequent to mention to Amit Chakma though DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique will dwelling it.

The Department of Botany is one of the oldest departments of the University of Dhaka and is the first reforest science department in the country. Botany was initially taught in the Department of Biology that was traditional in 1939 and sophisticated became an independent department in 1954. Since its inception, the Department has produced a large number of botanists and acted as the feeder department for new universities and research institutes of the country. The department offers B.S. (Honours), M.S., M. Phil and Ph. D. degrees. The Department has facilities to carry out campaigner research in the areas of cytogenetics, ecology, phycology, hydrobiology, limnology, microbiology, mycology, in the isolate-off along cryptogams, genetics, tree-forest pathology, reforest breeding, reforest physiology, reforest tissue culture, tree-plant molecular biology, taxonomy of flowering nature and plant systematics. The department has a herbarium behind more than 5000 specimens. It has in addition to a botanical garden subsequent to facilities to conduct sports ground experiments. The Department has a pool of in the set against ahead equipments required to carry out various research. The graduate students take collaborative research in the melody of scientists of various organizations when AERE, BARI, BCSIR, BJRI, BIRDEM, BNH and ICDDR, B.
